ARMA Announces New Residential Manual

“ARMA Residential Asphalt Roofing Manual”

[Washington, DC] – The Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association [ARMA] has announced the publication and availability of ARMA’s new, revised and updated “ARMA Residential Asphalt Roofing Manual”.

The publication is the first edition of the residential manual since 1997. As such, it has been completely reviewed, revised, and presents a new format for ease of reading. Additionally, there are four new chapters, including information on laminated shingles, new graphs and charts.

The manual is the newest publication in the continuing ARMA series of technical and product literature developed and published on a wide range of subjects covering both low-slope and steep-slope roofing. The overall ARMA literature inventory includes a comprehensive listing of 57 publications covering residential and commercial roofing subjects, including sales and educational brochures, application and design manuals, maintenance manuals, and technical bulletins, and other materials and information.

ARMA is the official voice of the asphalt roofing industry, and as such, the Association’s publications are recognized as among the most reliable source of information on a variety of residential and commercial asphalt roofing subjects.

All ARMA publications are listed on the ARMA website under publications, and are available to order on-line. Individual copies of the technical bulletins are available to download and print off for reference at the recently activated new redesigned ARMA website:

To order copies of the new Residential Asphalt Roofing Manual, contact ARMA headquarters at: (202) 207-0917; fax: (202) 223-9741. Single or multiple copies are available at both member and non-member pricing (single issue $40 non-member), as well as bulk quantities, plus handling and shipping.

The recommendations contained in the new Residential Asphalt Roofing Manual were prepared by and have the approval of the Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association for informational purposes only. They are not intended to revoke or change the requirements or specifications of the individual roofing material manufacturers or local, state and federal building officials that have jurisdiction in a specific area. Any question, or inquiry, as to the requirements or specifications of a manufacturer, should be directed to the roofing manufacturer concerned.
